Former Spinner Advises India to be Wary of Usman Tariq in Upcoming T20 World Cup Clash

Former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh, has cautioned the men in blue to play Usman Tariq carefully in the upcoming clash against Pakistan at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. He praised the bowling abilities of Tariq, describing him as a quality spinner who can play a crucial role in deciding the result of the highly anticipated India vs Pakistan contest.

Speaking to the media, Harbhajan Singh said that India are firm favorites to win the upcoming match, however, they need to play Usman Tariq cautiously to maintain an upper hand over Pakistan.

“India will win the match. Pakistan has a spinner, he is a good spinner, we have to play him safe.” said former Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh.

He further advised the men in Blue to play the game without taking any pressure, just like they have always done against Pakistan in previous clashes.

“The Indian team is capable; it’s a very good team. We hope they play the way they have always played, play without any pressure and wave the flag of victory,” said Harbhajan Singh while speaking to the media.

Usman Tariq has recently become the talk of the town due to his unique action. So far, he has picked up 11 wickets in four T20Is while maintaining an outstanding average of 7.90 and an economy of 5.93.

Last year, Usman Tariq himself clarified the confusion many people had about his action. He explained how the natural bend in his elbows has often led people to misjudge his bowling action.

“There are two corners on my elbow that make it hard for me to straighten,” Usman Tariq said in an interview last year.

“I gave two tests at labs in Pakistan, and my action was cleared within a week. I didn’t get told to change anything. I was confident because I knew I was not throwing.” added Usman Tariq.
