The International Cricket Council has announced the ICC U19 World Cup Team of the Tournament, spotlighting the standout performers from a competition defined by fearless batting and high-skill bowling. England’s captain Thomas Rew, whose consistency carried his side to the final, has been named skipper of the selection, while Pakistan pacer Ali Raza earned recognition for his sharp, wicket-taking spells throughout the event.
Rew’s leadership and run-scoring output made him a clear captaincy pick. He piled up 330 runs across the tournament at an average of 66 and produced a match-shaping century in the semi-final against Australia. England’s presence in the XI extends further with Manny Lumsden and Ben Mayes also making the cut after topping key batting and bowling charts, respectively.
Champions India secured three spots, headlined by teenage powerhouse Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The left-hander closed the tournament with a breathtaking 175 off 80 balls in the final and finished with 439 runs overall, striking at over 169. His campaign included one hundred and three fifties, placing him among the most destructive batters of the event.
From Pakistan’s camp, Ali Raza Pakistan U19 reflects his impact with the ball. The fast bowler grabbed 13 wickets at 13.92 and repeatedly delivered breakthroughs in pressure overs.
The squad was finalised by a panel featuring Ian Bishop, Lydia Greenway, Andy Flower, and Telford Vice, balancing match influence with statistical weight.
