India Under-19s Triumph Over England by 100 Runs to Claim U19 World Cup 2026

India U19 won U19 World Cup 2026 by 100 runs in Harare. Deciding to bat first, India took advantage of a pitch with consistent bounce. Indian batters, especially Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, hit freely and maintained momentum throughout the innings.

A breathtaking 175 was struck by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on 80 balls, including 15 fours and 15 sixes. He was the youngest U19 World Cup centurion, overtaking Babar Azam, who had set the record in 2010 at the age of 15 years and 92 days. His formidable innings enabled India to have an enormous total for the bowlers to defend, giving India a comfortable cushion.

England Under-19s only reached 311 in 40.2 overs. Caleb Falconer’s 115 anchored the innings, while Ben Dawkins (66) and Ben Mayes (45) contributed important support. However, India’s disciplined bowling, led by RS Ambrish, Deepesh Devendran, and Kanishk Chouhan, kept England under control, particularly in the latter overs.

India’s bowlers applied pressure throughout the innings. Early breakthroughs and tight lines in the middle overs prevented England from accelerating. Key wickets at critical junctures ensured that India maintained a comfortable margin, eventually winning by 100 runs.

The U19 World Cup 2026 win marks a major milestone for India’s youth cricket, showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork. Sooryavanshi’s record-breaking innings and the team’s collective effort make this victory one to remember.
