The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) categorically rejected all the Indian media propaganda that it had approached the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the matter of boycotting the match. The PCB spokesperson, Amir Ali, clarified that no such contacts have been made by the board, and all the claims made by the Indian media are totally false.
While giving a befitting response to a tainted Indian journalist Vikrant Gupta, who often spreads fake news, the PCB spokesperson said that the Indian media is engaged in fictional reporting that has no connection with the real facts.
"I categorically reject the claim by Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta that PCB approached the ICC.” said the PCB spokesperson, Aamir Mir.
“As usual, sections of the Indian media are busy circulating fiction. A little patience and time will clearly show who actually went knocking and who didn't." added Aamir Mir.
For the unversed, Vikrant Gupta earlier tweeted that PCB had approached the ICC for a dialogue regarding the upcoming India vs Pakistan match. He further added that the ICC had warned the PCB of potential sanctions if it went ahead with its boycott decision.
"PCB has now reached out to ICC for a dialogue on the India-Pakistan World Cup after the ICC replied to their official communication: PCB first wrote to ICC saying they were pulling out of that game implying the 'Force Majeure', attaching their Govt's tweet," wrote Vikrant Gupta on X.
"The ICC then wrote back, asking what factors under 'Force Majeure' were they trying to imply, and telling PCB of legal ramifications and sanctions the ICC could hit them with. The PCB has now approached ICC for a dialogue to 'resolve' the issue." added Vikrant Gupta.
With just one week left in the marquee India vs Pakistan clash, the decision taken by the Pakistan government and PCB has given a huge shock to the BCCI. The Indian media has therefore started to circulate fake news to appease its local audience, though none of these reports have any credibility in reality.
