The key allrounder of New Zealand, Michael Bracewell, is reported to be making good progress towards his fitness recovery. The head coach of New Zealand shared an update on his progress, saying he is optimistic that Bracewell will be ready in time to represent the Kiwis in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
"I mean his progression has been really good and he's made good progress. Certainly everything seems to be on track for the warm-up game against the USA." said the head coach of New Zealand, Rob Walter.
Speaking about Jimmy Neesham, Rob Walter said that the allrounder has been active in the international T20 circuit for quite some time, so he fully understands the nature and demands of the format.
"Jimmy, who was a bit ill at the back end of this competition, was obviously very much involved in the Bangladesh Premier League all the way through to winning a final. So our guys have been very active from a T20 point of view, mostly involved in the series as well. So from a preparation point of view, I feel like we can't really feel to be unready." said Rob Walter.
When asked about the return of Lockie Ferguson, Rob Walter said that he is excited to see Ferguson back in action with full bowling rhythm.
"He has worked incredibly hard to get himself ready for the World Cup and ready to play the game [fifth T20I]. And he said he was going to ease into it, but he was bowling 145. So if that's him easing in, I'm looking forward to seeing what's to come.” said Rob Walter
