SA, SL Register Dominant Wins in ICC U19 World Cup Group Matches

South Africa showed a clinical performance against Tanzania when asked to bat first. The batters of South Africa scored a grand total of 397-5 in 50 overs, and this gave the initial impression of the contest.

Captain Muhammed Bulbulia and Jason Rowles were the players who mastered the innings and formed a 201-run partnership for the third wicket. Bulbulia scored 108 off 108 balls, including ten fours and one six. Rowles was unbeaten on 125 out of 101 balls, having ten fours and five sixes.

Simba Mbaki got two wickets, but the other bowling unit did not support him. While chasing, Tanzania only scored 68 in 32.2 overs. For South Africa U19, Jason Rowles and Bayanda Majola took 2 wickets each.

Sri Lanka Cruise Past Ireland With All-Round Display

In the second game, Sri Lanka scored 267/5 in 50 overs, winning by 106 against Ireland at the Namibia Cricket Ground. 

When they had lost three wickets at the cost of 59 runs, SL U19 captain, Vimath Dinsar, made a century partnership with Kavija Gamage, which boosted the score to 239 in 46 overs. Dinsara top-scored with 95 off 102 balls, with six boundaries and a six. Gamage just failed to reach a half-century, and Chamika Heenatigala contributed 51 out of 53 balls. For Ireland, Oliver Riley took 2 wickets.

Ireland were bowled out for 161 in 40.1 overs, four wickets were taken by Dulnith Sigera. The only notable contribution was by the opener Callum Armstrong with 39.

This victory made Sri Lanka U19 win two in a row after the initial round victory over Japan.
