South Africa vs New Zealand: Jansen Strikes Put Proteas in Control After Allen’s Brisk Start

New Zealand started the innings on a high note, as Finn Allen led the batting charge to score quickly in the Powerplay. He played positively to put pressure on South African bowlers, but Marco Jansen eventually came up with a sharp spell to dismantle the Kiwi top order.

After winning the toss, South Africa decided to bowl first to take advantage of the seam-friendly Ahmedabad conditions. Their plans didn’t work well in the first few overs, as Finn Allen and Tim Seifert started aggressively to put pressure on them.

Aiden Markram then brought Marco Jansen to the attack, who immediately made the breakthrough by removing Tim Seifert in the 4th over. Soon after that, he also removed Rachin Ravindra for just 13 runs, showcasing his class on the seam-friendly Ahmedabad bowling surface.

Finn Allen tried to counterattack to put pressure back on South African bowlers, but he also lost his wicket after scoring 31 runs. Due to that, New Zealand lost three crucial wickets at the end of the Powerplay while scoring 58 runs.

The match between South Africa vs New Zealand is now in the balance, as Kiwis are trying to build a partnership to steady their batting innings. They have scored 106 after losing four wickets at the end of 11 overs.
