The bowlers of Zimbabwe had a clinical performance, where Oman was unable to get the momentum at the beginning. The Powerplay proved disastrous for the hosts, who managed only 23 runs while losing four wickets inside the first six overs. Early strikes from Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava broke the top order, leaving Oman reeling at 24 for 4.
Oman’s resistance came primarily from Sufyan Mehmood, who top-scored with a patient 25 off 39 balls, and wicketkeeper Vinayak Shukla, whose brisk 28 off 21 balls briefly lifted the innings. Nadeem Khan added a useful 20 down the order, but regular wickets prevented any meaningful recovery.
Zimbabwe’s bowling attack shared the spoils evenly. Richard Ngarava was outstanding with figures of 3 for 17, using bounce and movement effectively. Blessing Muzarabani matched him with 3 for 16, while Brad Evans cleaned up the lower order with 3 for 18. Sikandar Raza also chipped in with a key wicket and maintained control in the middle overs.
Oman were eventually bowled out in the final over, setting Zimbabwe a manageable target and underlining the visitors’ dominance with the ball in the first innings.
