West Indies Struggle Early, 55/3 After Powerplay Against England

The innings got off to a shaky start as Shai Hope fell for a duck in the very first over, caught by England’s Banton off Jofra Archer. Brandon King followed soon after, dismissed by Sam Curran for just 1 run. Shimron Hetmyer tried to steady the innings with a quickfire 23 off 12 balls, hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes, but wickets continued to fall.

England’s bowling attack was disciplined and effective. Jofra Archer and Sam Curran took one wicket each, while Jamie Overton struck at the end of the powerplay, dismissing Hetmyer just as West Indies were trying to gain momentum. Extras added 11 runs, including 7 wides, as the Windies managed 55/3 in 6 overs.

Roston Chase and Sherfane Rutherford remain unbeaten, looking to rebuild the innings for West Indies. England’s early breakthroughs have set the tone, making the next few overs crucial for the Caribbean team to stabilize and accelerate later.
